Nextologies is seeking an experienced engineer with expertise in broadcast systems and equipment, specifically IP equipment for uncompressed/compressed video formats and multicast networking. This role will be part of our 10TX live events division, responsible for maintaining and supporting the core broadcast infrastructure and architecture, building transmission plans for live events, and troubleshooting critical issues during those events.
10TX is a leading signal transmission company trusted by professional sports leagues, broadcasters, content producers, and entertainment companies to deliver live events and pay-per-view programming worldwide.
Nextologies is a full time video delivery company that handles over 1,000 channel deliveries globally. 10TX is the live event division of Nextologies, where we work with the top brands around the world to help them transmit their live television shows. We are looking for a team to work in the West Coast Video Network Operations Center (VNOC). That team will be the front-line quality control sentry for the channels that Nextologies transports and supports globally.
We need people who love technology—even if your degree isn’t in IT or computer science— and who thrive on the fast-paced changes technology delivers. The ideal candidate will bring a love for learning new things every day and the ability to transition easily, and happily, from driving an independent investigation into channel quality issues to communicating across all levels of our multi-national team and client base.
We are looking to fill the 3pm to 12am midnight Pacific time zone in the Nextologies/10TX West Coast VNOC in Las Vegas. This is a 5-day work week, but not Monday- Friday. In order to staff the full seven-day week, the Las Vegas VNOC team will alternate schedules so that everyone on the team can get periodic Saturday/Sunday weekends. The ability to work a rotating schedule is required.
A note about schedule:
In our Toronto headquarters, our VNOC currently operates a 24/7/365 schedule. Our goal is to create additional NOCs worldwide to share the 24-hour shifts, allowing us to remove the need for overnight shifts for any of our video network operations center teams.

Hiring for: Las Vegas Office 3pm-12am (midnight local time) 9hr day

We are looking for a talented Technical Project Manager to join a team that creates large-scale, highly-performant enterprise and consumer facing media technical solutions and software applications. This team creates and deploys technical solutions in the fast and ever evolving television and media industry that reaches millions of people.
From whiteboard to keyboard. That's the way we operate. Our development team moves so rapidly with the multitude of ideas that our clients and teams come up with, that there are times we fail to document things properly. We still hit our deadlines, but we need a PM that can stay on top of all of the projects in our pipeline to ensure that things are organized and run smoothly with no surprises. Someone who will foresee if a deadline will not be met in advance, so that we will be able to request more time for the development team and safeguard the company from arriving to a deadline with an incomplete or ‘half-baked' product.
We are looking for an individual that knows about technology and has a passion for learning and growing. This is not a role that requires you to come with multi-year experience as a project manager, but rather a role that allows you to grow and develop, as our team learns. Consider it more about over-seeing a team of developers while holding them accountable to deadlines. As a Technical Project Manager under the Nextologies organization, you'll be responsible for managing engineering teams developing client-side features and applications for our products. You'll also function as the interface between Product and other Engineering teams, participating in coordination, alignment, road mapping, and the overall seamless delivery of best-in-class business and consumer applications.
This role includes working directly with the CEO and COO, who will provide vision and ideas for projects with agreed upon deadlines, until the project manager is able to handle the role solely on their own. The role requires you to work with existing team members in all departments - from the team in Markham office, to the development team in Simferopol Ukraine, as well as in Ahmedabad and Bangalore, India.
Team calls are held with the entire team twice a week, but are not limited to that. The project manager will use tools like Slack and Zoom to communicate with the team daily. These calls are recorded and can be used as reference at a later point in time.
Maintain detailed project documentation, including key project decisions and client/project requests/revisions. The project documentation MUST be acceptable enough to be used for our SRED and IRAP credits from government agencies.
The candidate will suggest other avenues for SRED and IRAP credits that can be tapped into for future tax credits.
Work with our 3rd party partners to handle all our SRED and IRAP credits.
The role also includes initiation and maintaining contact with some customers on all aspects of projects from the point of on-boarding to completion. You will manage task assignments, and develop the work plan, schedule and logistics based on the projects' parameters, deadlines, scope and clients' goals. The ideal candidate will have experience using project management and bug tracking tools like Asana, Jira and Monday.com
GANTT charts to be created for each client project, so that they can be tracked and shared with the clients that request to have an extremely detailed overview of the project so that deadlines are met. Updating that chart would be a core part of the responsibility of the project manager.
The PM will be working with the sales, engineering and development team to help identify bottlenecks and suggest solutions, by bringing them to the attention of C-level management, so that they can assist with either approving or improving those solutions.
The PM will review all changes and confirm whether the current project scope has changed. If it has, you will liaise with the sales team to make sure that billing is adjusted accordingly to support the new changes.
Coordinate all additional service requests
Schedule all deliverables and shipping for a subset of clients
The PM will ensure SOP (standard operating procedures) are created for each client and then hand that off to the VNOC (video network operations center room) supervisor and ensure that they and their team knows what the responsibilities are for each client. The VNOC is the front-facing 24/7/365 support for all clients and funnel issues and problems through them. If there is an issue with any client, its the role of the project manager to stay on top of issues and help reduce the overall downtime or issue per client so that we can increase our SLA (service level agreements) from 99.9 to 99.99 (three nines to four nines)
At Nextologies, we create technology that inspires. We offer a comfortable and easy work environment in our high tech Markham office. We also have a satellite office in Bangalore India which you can visit to work hand-in-hand with some of our team. A future with Nextologies will allow you to grow and not be kept siloed. The CEO started as an assistant to a developer over 10 years ago. He encourages growth and passion to learn more every day. If this sounds interesting to you, then being a Project Manager at Nextologies is a great start for your future.
